Quality Control From Materials to Shipment

Quality expectations are connected to the confirmed product, vehicle application, packaging and order requirements rather than treated as a final inspection task alone.

  1. 01

    Incoming Material & Component Inspection

Review applicable materials, components, specifications and visible condition before they enter production.

  2. 02

    In-Process Quality Checks

Check relevant dimensions, assembly, hardware, workmanship and function during production.

  3. 03

    Finished Product Inspection & Validation

Review product identity, appearance, operation, components and the validation items agreed for the project.

  4. 04

    Packaging & Pre-Shipment Inspection

Check packaging protection, contents, labels and shipment preparation, with information available according to order requirements.

Product Validation Based on Real-World Risks

The applicable validation plan depends on the product structure, vehicle application, target market and agreed customer requirements. Not every test applies to every product.

  • Weather Sealing & Drainage Evaluation

Project review may cover water ingress points, seals, joints, drainage paths and observations under an agreed spray or rain procedure.

  • Operation & Cycle Durability

Applicable opening, closing, folding, rolling, latching or locking functions can be evaluated against the agreed product requirements.

  • Vehicle Fitment & Installation Check

Fitment review connects the product version, hardware and installation observations to an identified vehicle configuration.

  • Structural & Load Evaluation

Structural or distributed-load checks are considered only for product designs and applications where a defined load requirement is applicable.

  • Corrosion & Surface Finish Evaluation

Material, coating and finish requirements may be reviewed through applicable visual, dimensional, adhesion or corrosion procedures agreed for the project.

  • Electrical Function Check

For applicable electric retractable products, control, remote and motor functions can be checked against the confirmed configuration and project requirements.

Vehicle Fitment Verification

Fitment is confirmed for the identified vehicle configuration and product version. Similar model names or model years are not treated as automatic confirmation.

Quality & Testing Questions

These answers explain the general quality approach. Product-specific requirements are confirmed for the applicable order or development project.

What quality checks are performed during production?

Applicable materials and components are reviewed before production. During manufacturing, checks may cover dimensions, assembly, hardware, workmanship and function. Finished products, packaging and shipment preparation are then reviewed against the confirmed product and order requirements.

Which product tests can be discussed for a project?

Depending on the product and project, the validation plan may include weather sealing and drainage, operating durability, vehicle fitment, structural or load evaluation, corrosion and finish review, and electrical function checks for applicable electric products. The method and acceptance criteria must be agreed before results are interpreted.

How does SEMRISE verify vehicle fitment?

Fitment review connects the product version and installation hardware to identified vehicle information such as make, model, year, market, cab and bed configuration. Mounting, operation, drainage and accessory interference are reviewed as applicable. Final fitment should be confirmed for the specific vehicle configuration.

Can inspection photos or test information be provided?

Inspection photos and related information can be prepared according to the customer, order and agreed project requirements. Tell us which product, vehicle application, inspection stage and document format your team needs so the available scope can be reviewed.

Do all product types use the same validation plan?

No. Soft roll-up, tri-fold, quad-fold, manual retractable and electric retractable tonneau covers—and truck caps and canopies—have different structures and risks. The relevant checks and validation requirements are selected for the actual product, application and customer project.

What is covered by the two-year product warranty?

All six product categories include a two-year warranty starting from the date the customer receives the goods. Coverage applies to confirmed manufacturing defects and is subject to the applicable warranty and order terms. Improper installation, misuse, accidents, unauthorized modification, lack of maintenance, normal wear and non-production transport or storage damage are excluded.

How are confirmed production quality issues handled?

The customer provides the order and product information together with photos, video and the affected quantity. After the issue and cause are reviewed, replacement parts, product replacement or another appropriate solution is discussed according to the specific case. Corrective action is considered for subsequent production when applicable.

Are spare parts supplied with full-container orders?

For full-container tonneau cover orders, a spare-parts package is calculated at 5% of the ordered product quantity. The component mix is confirmed according to the cover type and order requirements and may include applicable latches, pull cords, drain tubes, seals, remote controls, motor parts or other agreed items.
