Where we rely on legitimate interests, we consider whether our need to process the information is proportionate and whether your rights override those interests. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting processing already carried out.
4. Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device. We may also use pixels, tags, local storage and similar technologies. The technologies present on the website depend on the features and services enabled at the time of your visit.
| Category | Purpose | Choice |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Security, network delivery, form operation, administrator login and remembering privacy choices | Required for core operation; browser blocking may affect the website |
| Preferences | Remember language, display or optional feature choices | Used only as permitted by applicable law |
| Analytics | Understand traffic, page use, campaign performance and website quality | Where required, activated only after consent |
| Embedded content and marketing | Play third-party video, enable chat or social features, and measure advertising or conversions | Where required, activated only after consent or direct user action |
You can manage cookies through the privacy controls shown on the website, where available, and through your browser settings. Rejecting optional cookies will not prevent access to the core website, but some media or convenience features may be unavailable.
WordPress cookies
WordPress may use a temporary test cookie on the login page and authentication or display-preference cookies for authorized administrators. If comments are enabled, visitors may choose whether WordPress remembers their comment name, email and website for convenience; those comment cookies may remain for approximately one year.
5. Third-party services and embedded content
We use or may enable service providers to run the website and communicate with business contacts. Depending on production configuration, these may include:
- Hosting, content delivery and security providers that process IP addresses, request data and security logs to deliver and protect the website.
- Email, form, CRM and anti-spam providers that transmit, store or screen enquiries and related correspondence.
- Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics to manage measurement tags and understand website use, only under the applicable consent and configuration.
- YouTube for product or quality-testing videos. Loading or playing embedded content can send your IP address, device data and interaction information to Google/YouTube. Some videos are loaded only after you click play.
- WhatsApp when you choose to contact us through a WhatsApp link. Meta/WhatsApp processes that interaction under its own terms and privacy notice.
- Tawk.to or another live-chat provider if live chat is enabled. The provider may process chat content, contact information and technical data.
Third-party websites and platforms control their own processing. Review their privacy notices before using those services. Links alone do not cause us to receive the information you provide directly to the third party, although we may later receive your message or aggregate reporting.
6. How we disclose information
We may disclose personal information only as reasonably necessary to:
- SEMRISE personnel and affiliated operations that need it to respond, quote, manufacture, inspect, ship or support the requested products;
- hosting, security, analytics, communications, CRM, professional advisory and other service providers acting for us;
- freight, customs, payment, insurance or other business partners when needed to perform a transaction you request;
- competent authorities, courts or other parties when required by law or necessary to protect rights, safety and security; and
- a successor or prospective successor in a merger, financing, restructuring or transfer of relevant business assets, subject to appropriate safeguards.
We do not sell personal information for money. We do not use information from an enquiry to make decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
7. International data transfers
SEMRISE operates from China and serves customers internationally. Your information may therefore be processed in China and in other countries where our service providers or business partners operate. Those countries may have privacy laws that differ from the laws where you live.
Where applicable law requires it, we use an approved transfer mechanism or other appropriate safeguards, such as contractual protections, and apply supplementary technical or organizational measures where appropriate. You may contact us for more information about safeguards relevant to your information.
8. How long we retain information
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the stated purpose, including legitimate business, security, dispute-resolution and legal-recordkeeping needs. Our standard targets are:
- Enquiries that do not become an active business relationship: up to 24 months after the last meaningful interaction.
- Customer, supplier and transaction records: for the relationship and then for the period required by applicable tax, accounting, customs, warranty and limitation laws.
- Routine server and security logs: generally 30–90 days, unless an incident or legal requirement justifies longer retention.
- Marketing records: until you opt out or the information is no longer useful, with a minimal suppression record retained to honor your opt-out.
- Comments, if enabled: the comment and its metadata may be retained while the comment remains published and as needed for moderation.
- Analytics and cookie data: according to the configured lifespan shown in the website’s cookie controls or the relevant provider’s settings.
We may anonymize information so it can no longer reasonably identify you; anonymized information may be retained for analysis and reporting.
9. Information security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information, such as access controls, secure transmission where supported, software maintenance, anti-spam measures, backups and vendor controls. No online transmission or storage method is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, deletion of, restriction of, objection to, or portability of your personal information. You may also have the right to withdraw consent, opt out of direct marketing, appeal a decision, or complain to a privacy regulator.
To make a request, email sales1@sunrise4wd.com with the subject “Privacy Request” and identify the right you wish to exercise. We may ask for information reasonably necessary to verify your identity and authority. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.
You may unsubscribe from a marketing email using its unsubscribe method or by contacting us. Transactional or service messages related to an active enquiry or business relationship may still be sent where necessary.
11. Additional regional information
European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland
Where these laws apply, you may complain to the data protection authority where you live or work or where you believe an infringement occurred. We aim to respond to a verified rights request within the period required by applicable law, generally one month under the GDPR, subject to permitted extensions.
California and other U.S. states
Some U.S. state privacy laws apply only to businesses that meet specific thresholds and may provide rights to know, delete, correct or obtain a copy of personal information, and to opt out of certain sale, sharing, targeted advertising or profiling. If a law applies to our processing of your information, you may submit a request using the contact details below. We do not sell personal information for money. If our use of analytics or advertising technology is treated as “sharing”, “targeted advertising” or a “sale” under applicable law, we will provide the required opt-out method.
12. Children’s privacy
This website is intended for business users and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16 through the website. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
13. External links
Our website may link to third-party websites, social networks or services. We do not control their privacy or security practices. Please review the privacy notice of the destination service before providing personal information.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in our services, providers or legal obligations. We will post the revised version on this page and change the “Last updated” date. Where required, we will provide additional notice or request consent.
